At the height of summer - well, what summer we've had so far - the Weekly News swaps its regular School Report coverage for that of village fetes, carnivals, prom days, festivals and fairs. There are so many events in communities right across Conwy over the summer that it can be hard to keep up with them.
This week alone we will have picture coverage of Llandudno Carnival, the Eglwysbach Show and Penmaenmawr Fun Day (as well as a WI summer fair in Betws-y-Coed we couldn't squeeze in last week), and I like to think our coverage of such events is unrivalled.
We try to get to as many events as we physically can every weekend, but there's only so much we can do with two photographers and a geographical area as wide as that we cover. Everywhere from Llanddulas to Abergwyngregyn, from Llandudno to Cerrigydrudion, but we can't be everywhere at once and sometimes we just can't manage it.
So we welcome any picture submissions of local events from readers in areas we simply haven't managed to get to. We did quite well last weekend, although we missed some events in Conwy, but hope to make up for it this weekend.
We also have some Eisteddfod coverage courtesy of the mammoth efforts of our staff photographer Arwyn Roberts, who's been on the maes in Mold every day to get as many pictures for all of our North Wales weekly papers as he can. I wouldn't say the Weekly News's Eisteddfod coverage is unrivalled (far from it), but I think we have competitive coverage all the same.
So if there's an event in your town or village you'd like us to get along to, let us know well in advance that it's happening, and even if we can't get there, we'd love to use any pictures readers have of the event. Contact us by the usual means.
