Nominate your champions!

For the tenth year in succession we want you to nominate local heroes for top awards. The search is on for the unsung heroes and heroines of our community. Trinity Mirror North Wales has once again joined forces with ScottishPower to host Your Champions 2007, an exciting venture which lets us pay tribute to those who make a difference in our area.

Your Champions has been highlighting the good work of individuals and groups since 1997 and we want you to tell us who should get the red carpet treatment this year. Our heroes and heroines will be honoured at a glittering presentation ceremony at the St George’s Hotel, Llandudno, on Friday, October 19th.

All of us know people in the community whose voluntary work goes beyond that expected – and you will agree with us that their good work needs bringing to the attention of a wider audience. They could be people who look after the sick, people who are environmentally friendly or young people who are going out and doing great, unsung work.

We want to know about them – so this is where you can call the tune. We want you to nominate them and watch as winners emerge from a judging panel made up of knowledgeable local VIPs. Area winners will go forward to a final judging session and all the successful category winners will receive their awards on October 19th.

All you have to do to nominate an individual or group of people for Your Champions is complete our nomination form and send it to our office.

This year ScottishPower is also offering a £2,500 Charitable Grants programme. Registered charities which make a nomination for Your Champions can also apply for a £250 grant towards a community project.

For a nomination form, see this week's paper or click here.
