I've been inundated with texts, phone calls and e-mails in support of the Weekly News We Want Walton campaign.
After reading last Thursday's front page, it seems readers from across the region are opposed to the Assembly’s plan to make North Wales patients travel to South Wales for neurosurgery treatment.
The Weekly News has teamed up with Conwy County Council to put pressure on the Cardiff-based government to scrap their plans – and we want YOU to support our campaign for North Wales to maintain its links with the brain unit at Liverpool’s Walton Centre, which treats up to 1,200 North Walians every year.
We have received the support of county councillors and Clwyd West MP David Jones, who has urged the public to support the We Want Walton campaign, and to visit the Downing Street website and sign the Neurology Travel petition, set up by Colwyn Bay councillor Gwyn Hughes, whose wife and son both had their lives saved by doctors at Walton.
“Walton is a world class medical facility, providing state-of-the-art integrated neurology and neurosurgery treatment. Over the course of a year, it treats about 600 North Wales in-patients and many more out-patients,” said Mr Jones. “I will do all I can to see this disturbing proposal thrown out.”

This Labour Government has been destroying this country for a number of years now, yet people still vote them in. I have tried to write to the weekly news on a few occasions, but they seem to prefer material that is nicey nicey, which suits what they think North Wales mentality is all about.
Personnally I think you all deserve to travel down to South Wales. What's more, if Gordon the Moron does declare an election, and they get in again, then you will deserve the consequences of that also. And as sure as Gordon is a moron, the consequences will be as crap as you can imagine.
Have a nicey nicey time on your 500 mile round trip.
